Prepare the Way 2026

Dear Church...

If you have ever swum in the ocean, you know how hard it can be to keep your footing amidst the turbulence of crashing waves. Right now, it can often feel like we are living in a similarly turbulent world. Yet, in Philippians 4, the Apostle Paul urges the church to "stand firm" against fear, doubt, and temptation by living as CITIZENS of heaven. 

For this year's Prepare the Way, we will be exploring what it means to live as CITIZENS of heaven and how this helps us to follow Jesus with a FOR REAL faith. 

A citizen is a follower of Jesus who has settled in their heart that Christ is both Saviour and Lord. They live as aching visionaries, longing for the future God has promised to break into our world. As citizens, we choose to invest ourselves in another world, living not for our own sake, but for the sake of others—so that all may taste and see the goodness of God and take their place at His table.  

Prepare the Way has always been about far more than a giving moment. It is how we, as a church, make room at the table: room for the future God has for us, and room for those who are yet to come. 

It is the ongoing story of everyday people choosing to build beyond themselves and trust God with what lies ahead. Together, we are creating environments where people can encounter God, receive care and prayer, and find a place to belong.
