About
Dayspring
Church

Our story so far

Since our beginnings in 1999 as part of the Vineyard movement in Australia, we’ve grown into a non-denominational church that beautifully blends the practices of the charismatic with the contemplative. We’re all about community, family, spiritual formation, heartfelt worship, the Holy Spirit’s presence, and solid biblical teaching.

After completing a leadership training school at The Vineyard under John and Carol Wimber, Dayspring was planted by pastors David & Narelle Crabtree in their lounge room in 1991. This new church plant quickly outgrew the Crabtree’s lounge room, moving to a local primary school, to a rented building in Salisbury Road, Castle Hill and then finally to our own building (just across the road) at 15 Salisbury Road in 2010. In 2017 David and Narelle transitioned the role of senior leadership to the next generation of leaders. Today, Dayspring is led by Aaron & Kristen Williamson.

 The name Dayspring comes from Luke 1:78. It is a reference to Jesus.

Luke 1:78 Through the tender mercy of our God, With which the Dayspring from on high has visited us; To give light to those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, To guide our feet into the way of peace.

 Our heart as a church community is to “give light” to those around us, to guide humanity into the way of peace.

Leadership Team

Senior Team

Our senior team is a group of senior staff charged with leading, developing and growing the culture of Dayspring church in order to fulfill our vision and mission.

Our Staff

Our Board

Our board is made up of men and women who have accepted the call to provide spiritual oversight and operational governance for our Dayspring community.

Our Foundations

Our focus is His presence. We are a people of His presence before we are anything else. It is what marks us. It is what makes us. The two values we live out of when it comes to presence… 1. Encountering a good God: The church, at its best, gives people a tangible encounter of what if feels like to be loved by Jesus. 2. A Walk of Transformation With God: The Christian life is a walk. Day by day, moment by moment we are living life “WITH” God, aware of His presence and being transformed into His image.

We believe that “Revival looks like family”. The two values that we live out of when it comes to people are; 1. Family Found In Love: We choose to be a community of covenant over a community of convenience. A christian community knit together in a web of stubbornly loyal relationships. A living network of persons who are committed to practicing the way of Jesus together for the renewal of the world. 2. Priesthood of All Believers: We all take on the responsibility of showing others what the kingdom of God looks like (1 Peter 2:5)

Purpose isn’t something we strive for or chase after, purpose flows from a heart of intimacy. The two values that we live out of when it comes to purpose are; 1. We Carry the Kingdom: We believe Jesus wants us to be a part of bringing heaven on earth. He wants to release His will, His rule & reign on earth. The doors have been opened, authority has been given, so that His kingdom can come through us! 2. We Make Disciples: This is how the Kingdom of God is extended - by people following Jesus and then showing others how to follow Jesus (Matthew 28:18-20)

What We Believe

We believe that God is infinite, wise, holy, powerful, unchangeable and loving. He exists as the One Living and True God in the three persons of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

We believe that God sent His only Son, Jesus, into the world. Conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, as fully God and fully man in one person, He is Spirit-filled humanity as God intended us to be. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ as both God and man is the only One who can reconcile us to God. He lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again to prove His victory and empower us for life.

We receive eternal salvation as the gift of God in His Grace through personal faith in Jesus and His sacrificial death on the cross on our behalf.

We believe that the Holy Spirit is also the Spirit of Jesus and indwells every believer in Jesus as an abiding Helper, Teacher and Guide, received as conscious experience for life and ministry.

We believe that the Bible is the only written source of truth about God and that it is the authoritative foundation for doctrine and belief.

We believe that Grace is God's constant Empowering Presence, enabling and authorising believers to accomplish His will on earth as demonstrated by Jesus.

That is:
  • to declare the coming of the Kingdom of Heaven,
  • to preach Good News (it really is!),
  • to promote Grace (God's empowering Presence to give us new life)
  • to announce and declare peace,
  • To heal the sick;
  • To relieve poverty and injustice;
  • To fulfil the Great Commission and make disciples of all nations;
  • To create and model Godly relationships, marriages and families;
  • To set people free; and
  • To work in all the power of the Holy Spirit.

We believe that Jesus will return in person to bring about the final defeat of Satan and his works, the resurrection of the dead and the final restoration of all things.
