General Information
DaySpring Events
All DSSM students have the opportunity to participate in DaySpring Church conferences and events, held at regular intervals throughout the year. DaySpring is blessed to have the input of a number of dynamic, international leaders in revival at a number of conferences during the year, as well as Weekend Intensives, mission trips, camps and ministries.
All conferences and intensives are included as compulsory parts of the DSSM Syllabus, and thus come at no extra cost to students. There are additional ministry and church life events throughout the year which students are able to elect to participate in.
DaySpring conferences and events may include:
- Men’s and Women’s Conferences
- ‘When Heaven Invades Earth’ Conference
- Prophetic Conference
- Youth Conference
- DaySpring Intensive Weeks
- Men’s and Women’s Breakfasts
- Local Outreach Trips (Full-Time Only)
- Ministry visits to churches in metropolitan and regional NSW
- Kids Camp
- International Missions Trips (previous trips include missions to Hong Kong, Manila, Thailand and India) – this is a voluntary part of the course and open to both Full- and Part-Time students
Ministry Electives
First and Second Year students are given the opportunity to experience the ministries of the church during their year at DSSM. You are given first-hand experience of the inner workings of a church, and the ability to explore your own giftings and passions by ministering supernaturally in the different areas of church life.
Full-Time First Year students are placed on rotation during first semester in order to gain an experience of every area of church life. In second semester, students are then given the opportunity to select the area of Ministry they are most passionate about in which to train and serve throughout the year. Part-Time students will gain some ministry experience through their church involvement on Sundays.
Second Year students are then given the opportunity to develop their giftings and skill by taking on more leadership responsibility in their chosen ministry area.
DaySpring Ministry Areas include:
- Worship
- DaySpring Kids
- Revolution Youth
- Fuel (Young Adults Ministry)
- The aRk (Creative Arts Ministry – Drama, Dance, Media & Art)
- Women Alive
- HISmen
- Pastoral Care
- Prayer & Healing Ministry

Mission Trips and Outreaches
Mission trips are an amazing way to positively impact people outside of your normal environment whilst stretching, growing and teaching you as you minister. We believe in the value of serving others locally and internationally and being strategic in spreading the gospel.
Both local and international missions trip are incorporated into the School. The local program involves opportunities to minister at different churches around regional NSW, at different times during the year. Some local outreach is a required component of the course for Full-Time students and is included in your fees, although there will also be voluntary opportunities.
The international mission trip is not compulsory but is highly recommended and is open to both Full- and Part-Time students. Students will need to fund this trip themselves, although we encourage group fundraising to contribute toward the cost. The trip’s duration is approximately 2-3 weeks. The cost of this trip will depend on the location selected and is NOT included in the tuition fee. Estimated cost is $3000 - $4000.
The airfare component of the trip will be approximately $2000 - $2500. Students will be notified of the exact amount by the end of the first month of classes. This cost will be due on or before Friday June 27th 2008, paid IN FULL.
Students will not be eligible to participate in the international mission trip unless this component is paid in full by the due date.
Expeditions and Camps (Full-Time Students Only)
Each semester includes an expedition into the outdoors that is aimed at building character and stretching students beyond their normal everyday experiences. As well as participating in the various tasks and exercises, students will also be given opportunities to debrief and be taught to explore their feelings and reactions constructively both individually and in a group setting. Expeditions are designed each year to fit in with the experience, age and general fitness level of the students, with prior physical training provided.
Mentoring and HomeGroups
At the beginning of the first semester, each Full-Time student will be allocated a mentor, who will provide pastoral care and encouragement. Mentors are there for the spiritual welfare and growth of the student and as such students are expected to meet with their mentor fortnightly.
For the same reason, both Full-Time and Part-Time students are required to join a home group that meets together fortnightly. DaySpring offers a wide variety of home groups and students are encouraged to find one that meets their individual needs
